Autumn

We manage our own plot of ancient woodland, Broome Wood, for materials and biodiversity. It is a living, breathing and thriving example of how we believe wooded land should be used.

It is as if nature moves in slow motion through Autumn. Conspicuous signs of life begin to slow and the woodland prepares for a time of hibernation.

The young whips of hazel take a collective pause as their colours change and their leaves prepare to fall. We’re not ready to coppice just yet but the woodland readies itself.
