Welsh Dresser debuts at Miami Art Week with the Crafts Council


Together with Isle of Wight-based ceramic storyteller Sue Paraskeva, the Sebastian Cox studio and workshop present new work, Broken, Cleft, Thrown and Planed, 2017, in Miami during Miami Art Week.


The collaboration comprises a contemporary interpretation of a Welsh dresser, made from English elm and chestnut, and hand thrown porcelain vessels suspended from solid silver.

The collaboration is on display in the show, British Craft: The Miami Edit, featuring the most exciting talents in contemporary British craft and sculptural art, as curated by the Crafts Council and The New Craftsmen.

Broke, Cleft, Thrown and Planed appears alongside work from Phoebe Cummings, Ashraf Hanna, Leah Jensen, Charlotte Kingsnorth, Lauren Nauman, Anna Ray, James Rigler and Katie Spragg.

You can see the exhibition at FORM, opposite Art Basel in Miami, Florida, America from 6- 10 December.
