New English elm Bayleaf dining table

In celebration of London Craft Week and the STAY HOME exhibition at the Simple Shape gallery, we have been experimenting with digital patterns that accentuate the beauty of English wood. We want to combine hand and digital tools to celebrate our native, natural materials.

We have created a new dining table which sits at the heart of the STAY HOME exhibition. In response to the feathery, fluid and almost phsychedelic appearance of the English elm we have CNC cut a clean and simple pattern into it's top.

With waney edge in tact, this piece is the perfect combination of hand and machine craft, where nature meets digital nurture.
